Comments. Caenis teipunensis is closely related to C. fittkaui Malzacher, 1986 , another species in which the male imago present the apically pointed forceps. It is easily distinguished from C. fittkaui which has short apophyses compared with extremely long apophyses in C. teipunensis as in the figures provided by Molineri et al. (2011).
