Other distribution: China (Yunnan), Myanmar, Taiwan, Vietnam. (2)
Biology: This species is unusual amongst Xyleborus in attacking only species of Pinus (Pinaceae) , and is hence confined to the mountains of North Thailand. In Thailand it has been recorded from both Pinus kesiya and P.merkusii . The gallery system has not been described, but is likely to resemble that of other Xyleborus species.
