Type material: Holotype: ♂, Cuyutlan [18°53’N, 104°03’W], Colima, Mexico, 11 January 1943, F. Bonet leg. ( AMNH).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
Diagnosis. Males of C. cuyutlan sp. nov. are distinguished from those of the other species of the genus by the palp with vRTA1 long and gutter-shaped and by the vRTA2 short and spike-like (Figs 37−38). Females are unknown.
Description. Male: Prosoma, chelicerae, legs and pedipalps orange-brown. Labium dark orange, distally lighter. Endites pale orange. Sternum orange with brown margins. Opisthosoma brownish-gray, dorsally with indistinct gray pattern. Total length 11.2. Prosoma: 5.2 long, 5.1 wide. Opisthosoma: 5.7 long, 4.5 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.36, 0.34, 0.26, 0.32; interdistances: 0.30, 0.14, 0.50, 0.46, 0.28, 0.20. Legs (2143): I: 26.7 (7.5, 2.9, 7.0, 7.1, 2.2); II: 29.0 (7.7, 3.0, 8.0, 8.0, 2.3); III: 20.2 (6.0, 2.4, 5.1, 5.0, 1.7); IV: 23.5 (6.8, 2.2, 6.2, 6.4, 1.9). Palp: dRTA long. Subtegulum visible at 9:30 o’clock position. Embolus with large, elongate triangular base, narrowed subdistally, arising from tegulum at 9 o’clock position. Conductor distally widened. (Figs 37−38).
Female: Unknown.
Distribution. Only known from the type locality in the state of Colima, Mexico (Map 2).
