Diagnosis. This species can be easily distinguished from the others species of Parasycorax by the presence of at least 15 spines on the gonostylus, with the apical three spines being the longest.
Comments. According to Bejarano et al. (2008) the holotype male of P. utriensis was collected approximately 15m above the ground in the crowns of trees.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Colombia (Chocó).
