Rhinolophus keyensis Peters 1871 View in CoL , Monatsb. K. Preuss. Akad. Wiss. Berlin, 1871: 307.

Type Locality: Key-Inseln (= Kai Isls).

Vernacular Names: Kai Horseshoe Bat.

Subspecies: :

Subspecies Rhinolophus keyensis subsp. keyensis Peters 1871

Subspecies Rhinolophus keyensis subsp. amiri Kitchener 1995

Subspecies Rhinolophus keyensis subsp. parvus Goodwin 1979

Subspecies Rhinolophus keyensis subsp. simplex K. Andersen 1905

Distribution: Many islands in Indonesia; see Kitchener et al. (1995 a).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Endangered.

Discussion: megaphyllus species group. Revised by Kitchener (1995 a), who apparently overlooked the fact that keyensis is the oldest name for this complex (not simplex ). Not included in megaphyllus , although see Corbet and Hill (1992). Includes parvus; see Kitchener et al. (1995 a), but see also Bergmans and van Bree (1986). The holotype of annectans is a damaged skull that is difficult to assign with any certainty, but may represent parvus; see Kitchener et al. (1995 a).
