Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) phialatus View in CoL .—Moraes et al., 2004: 366; Chant & McMurtry, 2007: 157.
This species is mainly known from the Western Palearctic region and is very common in the Mediterranean basin. It has been reported from many plants and some orchards such as vineyards, apple, almond, pear but essentially on citrus (Ferragut et al., 1983; Kreiter & Brian, 1987; Papaioannou-Souliotis et al., 1994; Espinha et al., 1995; Sahraoui et al., 2012). Some studies have been carried out on the biology of this species (Hussein, 1987; Meszaros et al., 2007) and some publications reported that it can limit the development of mite pests in citrus orchards. This species was already reported from Morocco by McMurtry & Bounfour (1989) on citrus, weeds and Argania spinosa .
