Distribution. A cosmopolitan species ( Blakemore 2002, 2007).

Remarks. Polypheretima elongata is an exotic species originating from the Indonesian region ( Easton 1976), and commonly found in the Indochinese region ( Thai 1983). A new illustration of Po. elongata is provided in this study ( Fig. 4 ) because there are no available figures of this species from Vietnamese samples.
