Basionym: Pleurothallis georgei Luer (1975: 246) View in CoL .
TYPE:— ECUADOR. Morona Santiago: epiphytic in felled trees, 30 km south of Gualaquiza , 500 m, 6 Aug 1975, Luer, Luer & Wilhelm 451 (holotype: SEL!).
Distribution: — Ecuador.
Notes:— This Ecuadorean species is easily recognized by the caespitose plants with ramicauls covered by long hispidulous sheaths, purple flowers, obovate petals in the basal half then contracted and acute and trilobate lip with oblique, rounded, erect lateral lobes and apiculate midlobe.
