TYPE:— BRAZIL. Espírito Santo: Conceição do Castelo, Cachoeira da Fumaça , 620 m, Jun 2003 (fleurs), Sanson s.n. ex Frey 531 (holotype: MBML!; isotype: LY).
Distribution: —Southeastern Brazil.
Notes:— Myoxanthus conceicionensis is endemic to southeastern Brazil. It is most similar to M. punctatus but easily distinguished from the latter by purplish flowers vs. yellowish to brownish and purple stripped sepals vs. sepals with circular purple to dark red warts.
