Basionym: Pleurothallis uxoria Luer (1979: 186) View in CoL .
TYPE:— ECUADOR. Zamora-Chinchipe: epiphytic in cloud forest east of the pass between Loja and Zamora , 2500 m, 11 Feb 1978, Luer, Luer & Portilla 2533 (holotype: SEL!).
Distribution: — Colombia and Ecuador.
Notes:— Myoxanthus uxorius is caespitose with narrow leaves generally with revolute margins and yellowish glabrous flowers that are similar to M. ruschii from Brazil, but M. uxorius is distinguished by its unmottled sepals and petals vs. darkly mottled, column foot without calli vs. with a pair of thick calli near the apex, yellow lip suffused with brown, obovate arcuate, convex above the middle, the disc with a pair of smooth, rounded calli bellow the middle vs. reddish to brownish, obovate, with angled elevated margin near the middle and revolute slightly verrucose margins above the middle.
