Type material. Adult male holotype from Geshur , southern Golan , Israel, leg. Rakefet Sharon, September 1998, pitfall trap ( HUJ 15496). Female unknown.
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition referring to the type locality.
Description. Colouration deep brown. Large dorsal scutum. Small eyes, ALE largest. Chelicerae with 3 pro- and 1 retromarginal teeth.
Male. Measurements (holotype): total length 5.5; carapace length 2.6, width 1.8, index 1.44; labial index 1.34; clypeal index 2.75; MOQ index 10.8; legs length: I 5.2, II 4.7, III 4.4, IV 7.1; patella-tibia index 0.73.
Palpus. Medium sized with thick, coiled black embolus rising apically behind hooked median apophysis ( Figs 77, 78 View FIGURES 77, 78 ). Tibial apophysis ends with slightly bent tip.
Diagnosis. Based on male. Zelotes geshur belongs to the Grecian ilotarum -group of species (cf. Chatzaki et al. 2003: 68). It differs by subtle details of the palpal sclerites like the form of the coiled embolus and the absence of a dorsal transverse extension (X in Chatzaki et al. 2003, figs 63, 66).
Distribution. Israel, known only from the type locality.
