Diagnosis. Moderate-sized species (about 6.10 to 6.70 mm in length). Dorsum (Fig. 12) brown to dark brown on medial portion with anterolateral portions on head, lateral portions on pronotum and lateral and posterior portions on elytra light brown; head and pronotum without metallic sheen; pronotum with large, faintly delimited central brown area; rows of punctures on elytra dark brown, even interstriae brown, odd interstriae lighter; elytra with small well-defined black spots around scutellum, on humeral humps, on half of elytra length (interstria 8) and on posterior third (interstria 4); abdominal ventrites medium to dark brown (Fig. 13). Clypeal disc and frons shagreened on interstices of ground punctuation; fine and very short decumbent setae regularly spread throughout PLATE 3. Figs. 12 to 17. Helobata corumbaensis Fernández & Bachmann, 1987 . habitus, 12: dorsal view, 13: ventral view; aedeagus, 14: dorsal view, 15: median lobe in ventral view, 16: ventral view, 17: lateral view.

surface; anterior clypeal margin weakly convex, almost straight, truncate medially, anterolateral angles weakly produced, obtuse (Figs. 12–13); frontoclypeal suture distinct (Fig. 12). Maxillary palpomere 3 and 4 subequal in length. Mentum rugose (Fig. 13). Punctures on elytral rows fine, irregularly spaced and weakly marked on row 10 (Fig. 12). Posteromedial elevation on mesoventrite semi-trapezoidal, very wide (1.75x longer than wide), with strongly raised lateral carinae, oblique and converging anteriorly, widely distant each other, convex posteriorly; not strongly connected with the metaventral projection (Fig. 13). Metaventral projection (between mesocoxae) forming a flat elevated longitudinal carina, not strongly connected with, and conspicuously higher than, metaventral medial carina (Fig. 13). Maximum width of phallobase on about half of its length; manubrium long and narrow, rounded at base; parameres slightly longer than median lobe, inner margins in ventral view sinuate, convex on basal half, concave on apical half, outer margins convex, apex rounded, bent inwards; median lobe with shallow apical emargination on dorsal lobule (ca. 0.12x length of median lobe); ventral lobule somewhat shorter than dorsal lobule (ca. 0.90x length of median lobe), with apex visible in dorsal view, rounded, very weakly produced ventrally, visible in lateral view (Figs. 14–17).
