Type Locality: Argentina, Rioja Prov., La Invernada.

Vernacular Names: Famatina Tuco-tuco.

Distribution: Sierra Famatina of NW Rioja Prov., Argentina.

Discussion: Recognized as a subspecies of fulvus by Cabrera (1961) and Woods (1993), but considered provisionally distinct by Contreras et al. (1977) and Galliari et al. (1996) recognized it as distinct.
