Comment. The original description of Leptacinus niger Coiffait, 1966 , a preoccupied name later replaced with L. nigerrimus by Coiffait (1971), is based on a single holotype male from "Caucase, 2200 m, sans autre précision de lieu" ( Coiffait 1966b). It was later reported also from Turkey (" Turquie orientale: Tahir 2400 m ") by Coiffait (1973). The above records suggest that the species is widespread in Turkey. The male specimen from Rize is distinguished from the material collected in Muġla by paler coloration (posterior margin of elytra broadly yellowish, abdominal apex yellowish brown, legs rufous) and by a more deeply concave sternite VIII, but the aedeagus is identical.
