Holotype ♂, Thailand, Nan Province, Doi Phu Kha NP, km 33.8 to 34.4, 25–30.xii.1991, I. J. Kitching & A. M. Cotton (no sequence data) ( BMNH).
Body length 4.6 mm, fore wing length 4.3 mm and antenna length 4.7 mm.
Antenna with 36 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere elongate, cylindrical and acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately 3 x longer than wide. Occipital carina complete, mediodorsally evenly curved, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron largely shiny with fine aciculate sculpture, precoxal sulcus only weakly depressed, speculum shiny almost smooth. Propodeum with complete, strong midlongitudinal carina. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2.5 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2.1 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.2 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.5 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.3 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu long, subtubular, weakly pigmented, curved, slightly antefurcal. Apex of hind tibia without comb of modified adpressed setae. Claws without consipuous pecten. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite moderately protruding, angular, weakly concave posteriorly. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite distinctly differentiated on anterior 0.9 of tergum.
Etymology. From Latin meaning an uneven, rough, harsh place in reference to the coarse appearance of the metasomal sculpture.
