Nippostrongylinae sp. 1.
( Fig 10 D, E View FIGURE 10 )
Three males and two females were collected from P. mollis from Bichate, Arfak Mountains, Papua, Indonesia AM W. 53149.
Tiny worms: Males 1.8, 2.1 mm long, 43, 47 wide, cephalic vesicle with about 15 annulations, 26 long, oesophagus 220, 230 long, spicules 190–200 long with a small slightly dissymmetric bursa. Females 2.1, 2.1 long, 50, 66 wide, cephalic vesicle 30, oesophagus 260, 290 long, vulva opening 80 from tail tip, tail reflexed ventrally, 20 long, 5– 6 eggs in utero, eggs thin shelled, ellipsoidal 52.8 long, 33.0 wide. Although the morphological characters were consistent with the specimens being a species of Helgenema this could not be confirmed because it was not possible to prepare transverse section of the body and describe the synlophe.
