Type species: Amblycephalus curtisii Fitch, 1851
Diagnosis. Small and superficially flattened leafhoppers, overall coloration stramineous with ochraceous regions and usually with one or more pairs of large black spots on crown. Forewing macropterous, or sub-macropterous with three anteapical cells. Pygofer without processes, pointed. Aedeagus without basal processes, atrium developed, shaft slender with ventrolateral flanges; apex with median cleft on ventral surface.
Distribution. Canada, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Argentina, and China.
