Neotypus (désigné ici): FRANCE. Ariège: « Foix Cult. à Lyon », 19.VII.1869, A. Jordan s.n. ( LY [ LY-B16 ], flèche ; iso-: LY!, P!, MPU!).

= Stachys officinalis (L.) Trevis. subsp. officinalis, View in CoL Prosp. Fl. Eugan.: 26. 1842.

Protologue. – «Foix (Ariège)».

Notes. – Cette plante -ou ses graines- est arrivée au jardin en 1865. Elle était au 33 e carré en 1867. Elle a été semée une seule fois en 1868. Cette espèce est décrite en 1869 dans les notes, et Jordan souligne en 1871 et 1872 qu’elle est voisine du n° 154 qui correspond à B. laxata .

Malheureusement aucune part d’herbier n’a été faite avant la parution du protologue avec la plante pourtant conservée vivante depuis plusieurs années dans le jardin.
