TYPE SPECIES. — Polyfistula longiquitas Nazarov & Ormiston, 1984 ( Nazarov & Ormiston 1984: 80, pl. 5, fig. 10).
AGE AND LOCATION OF TYPE MATERIAL. — Artinskian, Lower Permian, Urals, Russia.

STATUS. — Valid.
DIAGNOSIS. — “Latentofistulidae? с многочисленными (7 и более) лучами внутреннего каркаса, которые заключены в пластинчатую, неперфорированную скелетную ткань внешних удлиненных лопастей”. ( Nazarov & Ormiston 1984: 80).
DIAGNOSIS (English translation by J. P. Caulet – RadWorld database). — “ Latentifistulidae ? with an internal structure composed of numerous rays (7 or more rays), emanating from a hollow sphere of a diameter of 40-45µm. Usually, six, and more, rays are distributed in the same plane, another one being perpendicular to them. Internal structure enclosed by the plate-like tissue of the externally elongated lobes.” ( Nazarov 1988: 80).
