Scapular tubercles ahead of rear margin, 25 (24–26) apart, scapular setae (sc) 4 (4–5), projecting mediad. Coxal area with short lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum (1b) 8 (8–9), proximal setae on coxisternum (1a) 19 (18–20), proximal setae on coxisternum (2a) 38 (35–40). Prosternal apodeme absent. Legs with usual series of setae. Legs 32 (31–34), femur 10 (9–11), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 11 (10–11); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual setae (l'') 23 (21–25); tibia 7 (7–8), paraxial tibial setae (l') 5 (4–5), setae located 2/3 from dorsal base; tarsus 6 (5–6); tarsal empodium simple, 6rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Legs 27 (26–28), femur 8 (8–9), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 6 (6–7); genu 4 (4–5), antaxial genual setae (l'') 6 (6–7); tibia 6 (5–6); tarsus 5 (4–5); tarsal empodium simple, 6rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 44 (42–45) annuli, smooth, ventrally with 56 (55–60) microtuberculate rings. Setae c2 21 (18–22) on ventral annulus 7 (7–8); setae d 48 (45–50) on ventral annulus 18 (17–18); setae e 40 (38–42) on ventral annulus 34 (33–36), setae f 26 (24–27) on 7th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 4 (4–5). Female genitalia 10 (9–11) long, 21 (20–22) wide, coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum (3a) 22 (20–23).
MALE: Unknown.
Types
Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Foping County, 33°30.48’N, 107°58.52’E. September 5, 2004, from Lindera glauca (Sieb. & Zucc.) Blume (Lauraceae) , coll. Xue, XiaoFeng & Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 7 females, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host
Mites are vagrant on the undersurface of leaves, causing no apparent damage.
Note
This species is similar to Calepitrimerus bungeanus Kuang, Luo & Wang, 2005 , but can be differentiated by median and admedian lines connected (median and admedian lines separate in C. bungeanus ), prosternal apodeme absent (prosternal apodeme present in C. bungeanus ) and empodium 6rayed (empodium 3rayed in C. bungeanus ) and female genital coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges (female genital coverflap smooth in C. bungeanus ).
