= Bulbophyllum subtenellum Seidenfaden (1979: 46) View in CoL . Type:— THAILAND. Bueng Kan: Nonkhai, 120 m, 15 November 1966, TS (Tem Smitinand) s.n. (holotype C).

Habitat and phenology: —Creeping trunk and branch epiphyte. Evergreen forests at elevation of about 800 m a.s.l. Flowers in December and April.

Distribution: — Vietnam (Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces). Nepal, NE India (Assam) , Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia.

Conservation assessment:— Bulbophyllum moniliforme is known from two sites in Vietnam which constitute an area of occurrence of 8 km 2. These sites fall within Lam Dong province and a very small population within the Hon Ba Nature Reserve. In Hon Ba, the species grows exclusively as epiphyte on woody climbers, and while no habitat destruction is reported, its miniature size makes it difficult to detect. As such there is no threat known to this species, although the species is known to occur in wild orchid trade. Accordingly, the species can be considered as Least Concerned. The species is known to be widespread from Himalaya via south China to Indo-Myanmar Biodiversity Hotspot. Hence, the globally preliminary assessment is retained for the final regional assessment of this species in Vietnam.
