Heteroglenea bastiensis (Breuning) View in CoL comb. nov. ( Figs 22–27 View FIGURES 22 – 24 View FIGURES 25 – 27 )
Glenea fissilis bastiensis Breuning, 1956: 769 View in CoL .
Glenea fissilis bastiensis, Breuning, 1966: 691 View in CoL [Catalogue].
Supplementary description. Male: length: 7.0– 7.5 mm, humeral width: 1.7–1.9 mm. Female: length: 7.3–8.0 mm, humeral width: 1.7–2.0 mm. Antennomere ratio: male, 10 2 12 11.5 11 10.5 10 9 8.5 8
8; female, 11 2 12 11.5 11 10.5 10 9.5 9 8.5 9. Male terminalia ( Figs 25–27 View FIGURES 25 – 27 ): Tegmen about 1.6 mm in length; lateral lobes stout, with finely haired ridge at ventral base, apex with setae nearly as long as lateral lobes; basal piece not bifurcated distally; median lobe plus median struts moderately curved, a little longer than tegmen (19:16); the struts less than half of whole median lobe; dorsal plate slightly shorter than ventral plate; apex of ventral plate narrowly rounded; median foramen elongated, with a projection on lateral view; internal sac more than 3 times of the length of median lobe plus median struts, with 3 pairs of basal armature, 2 bands of supporting armature and 3 special long rods, distinctly expanded at the base; rod about 4.3 mm, more than 2 times of tegmen in length. Tergite VIII as broad as long, apex slightly pointed, with dense and moderate long setae. Ventrite IX subequal to ringed part of tegmen in length. Female terminalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25 – 27 ): Spermathecal capsule consisting of an apical lobe and a stalk; apical lobe not expanded as H. fissilis ; stalk parallel with apical lobe and about as long as apical lobe. Tignum slightly longer than abdomen.
Remarks. Except for the slight color differences as Breuning (1956) mentioned, H. bastiensis differs from H. fissilis by: the third antennomere only slightly longer than the fourth; in male, tergite VIII only slightly pointed, rods clearly separated into three; in female, spermathecal capsule not so expanded at apex. Therefore the rank should be raised from subspecies to species.
Distribution. India.
