Diagnosis (male). Hypopygium left epandrial process with digitiform medially directed projection and ventral lobe, as in Coniceromyia blomae , C. stephensoni and C. leucomacula . Coniceromyia convergens can be differentiated from these species by its wing and forefemur not maculated.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, PANAMA: Paraiso: Canal Zone, 15.i.1911, A. Busck col. ( USNM) . Additional material: COSTA RICA: 1♂, Higuito: San Mateo, Pablo Schild col. ( MZSP) .

Hypopygium description ( Figs. 59–62 View FIGURES 59 – 62 ). Hypopygium light brown. Epandrium covered with microtrichia dorsally, with small proximal lateral areas bare; epandrial dorsal and left sutures present. Left epandrial process dorsally setose, with medial apically rounded projection near base, ventral lobe, subepandrial setose process near base and subepandrial transversal elevation. Right epandrial projection with subepandrial group of setulae. Hypoproct with three setae. Right lobe of hypandrium without projections.

Geographical distribution. Panama and Costa Rica.
