Coniceromyia parvicornis Borgmeier View in CoL

( Figs. 176 View FIGURES 174 – 190 , 228 View FIGURES 227 – 238 , 295 View FIGURES 294 – 297 , 330 View FIGURES 325 – 330 )

Coniceromyia parvicornis Borgmeier, 1963b: 454 View in CoL , figs. 2, 12.

Diagnosis (male). Very long scutellar setae (about three times longer than the scutellum); large frontal setae; hind femur with ventral lobe extending along its entire venter ( Fig. 295 View FIGURES 294 – 297 ), but not as developed as in C. femoralis .

Material examined. Holotype: ♂, PERU: East side Carpish Mts., 2,800 m, 40 miles SW Tingo Maria, 17.x.1954, E. I. Schinger & E. S. Ross coll. ( CAS).

Geographical distribution. Known only from the type-locality in Peru.

Comments. The holotype, the only known specimen of C. parvicornis , could not have the hypopygium illustrated since the distal part of its abdomen is missing.
