Coniceromyia reina Kung & Brown View in CoL
( Figs. 120, 181 View FIGURES 174 – 190 , 233–234 View FIGURES 227 – 238 , 301–302 View FIGURES 298 – 304 )
Coniceromyia reina Kung & Brown, 2001: 268 View in CoL , fig. 2.
Diagnosis (male). Characteristic wing pattern, with maculation adjacent to the entire wing margin, or at least to the anterior and apical margin.
Material examined. Holotype ♂, COLOMBIA: Boyacá: SFF Iguaque , 5.69ºN, 73.45ºW, 16.iii–1.iv.2000, Malaise trap, 3450 m, P. reina col. ( LACM) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 4♂, same data as holotype GoogleMaps . New material: COLOMBIA: 6♂, Cudinamarca: PNN Chingaza : Charrascales , 4.52ºN, 73.75ºW, 22.ii–15.iii.2002, Malaise trap, 2990 m, E. Raigoso col. ( LACM) GoogleMaps .
Hypopygium description ( Fig. 120). Hypopygium similar to that of C. bilineata , differing by the left epandrial process with dorsal lobe and subepandrial microtrichose projection.
Geographical distribution. Known from two localities in Central Colombia.
Comments. The macula on the wing of the six non-type males examined does not reach the postero-basal part of wing ( Fig. 234 View FIGURES 227 – 238 ), what differs from the holotype and from the remaining material previously described of this species ( Figs. 233 View FIGURES 227 – 238 ). This was considered a variation in Coniceromyia reina , not a separate species, since these males do not differ significantly in any of the remaining features.
