Holotype: ♂. MEXICO: Coahuila, 9.7 mi SW C. Ciénegas, 03–04/VI/1987. Col. W. D. & B. A. Sumlin; saline
lake margin.
Conservation status: Complete, well-preserved.
Paratypes: 1 ♂, 2 ♀. Ídem.
Conservation status: 1 ♂, 1 ♀ complete, well-preserved; 1 ♀ incomplete. Additional notes: Current synonym of Ellipsoptera nevadida metallica (Sumlin, 1990) (see Lorenz, 2005).
