Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase activity. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, adipic acid, and malic acid are utilized. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase, urease, and gelatinase activities. Does not utilize potassium gluconate, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain RDH1 (= NIBRBAC 000498075) was isolated from a fresh water pond sample, Seoul, Korea .
