Figs. 1–4 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 View FIGURE 4 .
Rhopalopsole basinigra Yang & Yang 1995:20 View in CoL . Holotype ♂ (CAU), Zhejiang (Gutianshan), China
Rhopalopsole basinigra Qian & Du, 2012a: 3 View in CoL
Rhopalopsole duyuzhoui Sivec & Harper 2008:111 View in CoL . Holotype ♂ (ICYZU), Zhejiang (Baishanzu), China (examined) syn. nov.
Male: The central plate of tergum 10 scale-like, mostly sclerotized ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ), but some specimens more sclerotized along hind margin ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Because there are no color figures of this species in the current literature, we also show the color pattern of the head and pronotum ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 3 View FIGURE 3 ), Other characteristics were described in Qian & Du (2012).
Female: Unknown.
Egg: Unknown.
Nymph: Unknown.
Type locality: China, Zhejiang Province, Gutian Mountain .
Material examined:
Rhopalopsole duyuzhoui Sivec & Harper, 2008 , syn. nov.: Holotype: ♂, China: Zhejiang Province, Baishanzu , 1999-VI-7, leg. Du Yu-Zhou ( ICYZU) ; Paratypes: 3 ♂♂, same data as holotype .
Rhopalopsole basinigra Yang & Yang, 1995: 4 View in CoL ♂♂, China, Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou City, Jiuxi, 2006-III-22, leg. Wang Zhi-Jie (ICYZU); 2 ♂♂, China, Guizhou Province, Zunyi City , 889 m, 2017-IV-2, leg. Chen Zhi-Ten (ICYZU).
Distribution: China (Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Guizhou).
Remarks. Yang & Yang (1995) did not describe the male of Rhopalopsole basinigra in sufficient detail. Qian & Du (2012a) checked the types of R. basinigra in the Insect Collection of Beijing Agricultural University and redescribed the detailed characteristics of this species. We checked the holotype and paratypes of R. duyuzhoui , and it is clear that R. duyuzhoui has the typical characteristics of R. basinigra . ( Figs. 1–4 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 View FIGURE 4 ). We, therefore, define R. duyuzhoui as a junior synonym of R. basinigra . Because the lateral projections of abdominal terga 9 ( Figs. 2A–2B View FIGURE 2 ) of R. basinigra have typical characteristics (long and sinuous) of the R. dentata group as proposed by Sivec et al. (2008), we think this species is a member of R. dentata group.
