Material examined: 1 male, China: Yunnan: Tengchong County, Yunfengshan (25°38'N, 98°43'E), 29.VI.2016, Xiao-Yan Li leg. (IZ-CAS). GoogleMaps
Redescription. BL: 6.5 mm, FL: 3.0 mm, HW: 1.35 mm, PL: 0.93 mm, PW: 0.93 mm, EL: 1.21 mm, EW: 1.38 mm, SL: 0.95 mm.
Macropterous; body black except elytron brown; each elytron with an moderately large orange spot, about 2/3 as long as and 1/2 as broad as each elytron. Antennae yellowish, club slightly infuscate. Maxillary palpi yellowish. Legs red brown, the knees darker. Clypeus black, labrum dark brown, moderate dense pubescent; paraglossae oval.
Head slightly narrower than elytra. Interocular area with a pair of deep longitudinal furrows, median portion distinctly convex, extending beyond the level of inner eye margins and with a distinct smooth zone; punctures round, slightly larger and sparser on median area than those near inner margins of eyes, the diameter of large punctures is about as wide as the basal cross section of antennal segment II, interstices smooth, mostly narrower than half the diameter of punctures. Antennae slender, slightly beyond the posterior margin of pronotum when reflexed backwards.
Pronotum as long as wide, disk uneven, with broad median longitudinal furrow and transverse impression in posterior half; punctures most confluent, slightly smaller than those on head; interstices distinctly ridge-like, mostly narrower than half the diameter of punctures.
Elytra shorter than wide; disk uneven, humeral impression and long sutural impression shallow. Punctures round and well delimited, slightly smaller than those of pronotum; interstices partially reticulated, more or less larger than the diameter of punctures.
Legs with tarsomere IV deeply bilobed.
Abdomen cylindrical, tergites III–VI with complete broad and nearly parallel paratergites, but becoming narrower posteriad; tergite VII with indistinct membranous fringe apically. Punctures round, dense, moderate to small in size posteriorly, interstices larger than puncture diameter; punctures on tergite VII slightly larger than one dorsal eye facet, interstices more or less smaller than puncture diameter.
Male: sternite VIII ( Figs. 9 F View FIGURE 9 & 10 B View FIGURE 10 ) posteromedially with a moderately large triangular emargination; sternite IX ( Figs. 9 G View FIGURE 9 & 10 C View FIGURE 10 ) with irregularly small serrate apicolaterally; tergite IX & X ( Figs. 9 H View FIGURE 9 & 10 D View FIGURE 10 ) with a small emargination at posterior margin. Aedeagus ( Figs. 9 E View FIGURE 9 & 10 A View FIGURE 10 ) with median lobe very slender and thin, weakly constricted a little behind the middle, apical sclerotized area anteriorly with a U-shaped emargination, and with a small apicomedian projection. Endophallus with median bands each very thin, relatively short; expulsion clasps separated but connected each other by a thin rod, diverging anteriorly, each slender, thin; copulatory tube comprising a very long fusiform structure, posteriorly with a very long, thin flagellum which extends posteriorly beyond the apex of median lobe in situ condition. Parameres slightly longer than median lobe, distinctly spatulateat apical part, with 24–28 setae on apico-mesial margins.
Female: Unknown.
Distribution. China (Yunnan), Myanmar, Thailand.
Remarks. This species belongs to Stenus feae group. This is the new record to China and is also the first species of Stenus feae group from China.
