Material examined: 1 male, China: Xinjiang: Shawan county, Lamamiao , 1636 m, 27.VI.1951, Chun-Pei Hong leg. (IZ-CAS).
Redescription. BL: 5.0 mm, FL: 2.8 mm, HW: 0.88 mm, PL: 0.75 mm, PW: 0.74 mm, EL: 1.07 mm, EW: 1.07 mm, SL: 1.00 mm.
Macropterous, body black with bright luster. Antennae and maxillary palpi dark brown, legs dark brown, but the tarsomeres red brown; clypeus black, labrum dark brown with moderately dense pubescent; paraglossae oval.
Head distinctly narrower than elytra. Interocular area with a pair of shallow longitudinal furrows, median portion slightly convex, reaching the level of inner eye margins; punctures round, mostly well delimited, slightly larger and sparser on median area than those near inner margins of eyes, the diameter of large punctures is about as wide as the basal cross section of antennal segment II, interstices smooth, mostly narrower than half the diameter of punctures except some along the midline of the convex median portion, which may be wider than diameter. Antennae stubby, after reflexed could reach the 2/3 posterior margin of pronotum.
Pronotum slightly longer than wide; disk uneven, without distinct median longitudinal; punctures mostly well delimited, much smaller than those on head; interstices smooth, varied from smaller to larger than diameter of punctures.
Elytra as long as wide. Surface of elytra convex, humeral impression and long sutural impression shallow. Punctures round, well delimited, much smaller than those on pronotum, interstices smooth, distinctly larger than punctures.
Legs with tarsomeres IV deeply bilobed. Abdomen cylindrical, tergites III–VI with broad and almost parallel complete paratergites, with shallow basal furrows on anterior segments, tergite VII with distinct apical membranous fringe; punctures round to elliptic, becoming smaller and sparer posteriad; interstices smooth, more or less shallowly reticulated, varied from smaller to larger than diameter of punctures.
Male: sternite VIII ( Figs. 7 F View FIGURE 7 & 8 B View FIGURE 8 ) posteromedially with a large triangular emargination, sternite IX ( Figs. 7 G View FIGURE 7 & 8 C View FIGURE 8 ) with weak serrate apicolaterally; tergite IX & X ( Figs. 7 H View FIGURE 7 & 8 D View FIGURE 8 ) entire posteriorly. Aedeagus ( Figs. 7 E View FIGURE 7 & 8 A View FIGURE 8 ) slender, well sclerotized, median lobe gradually becoming narrower apically; apical sclerotized area very long, narrowed apically, with a small swell at the apical-most part. Endophallus with median bands moderately long and broad; expulsion clasps each C-shaped, strongly sclerotized; copulatory tube long, main tube with funnellike structure near the middle. Parameres much shorter than median lobe, each distinctly spatulate at apical parts, with 14–16 setae on apico-internal margins, and with 4 very long setae at the apical-most part.
Female: Unknown.
Distribution. China (Xinjiang), Europe, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan.
Remarks. This species belongs to Stenus pallitarsis group and is the new record to China.
