Body generally dark brown with a slightly blue-green sheen, scutellum pitch dark; antenna dark brown but F4−F6 and clava often dark yellowish-brown; fore wing ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 37 − 38. 37 − 38 ) hyaline but brownish in about apical 1/3; fore leg dark brown except base of femur and apex of tibia yellow, tarsus dark yellowish-brown; mid leg dark brown except basal half of femur, base and apical half of tibia, and tarsus yellow; hind leg dark brown except base and apical half of tibia, and tarsus yellow.
Head. Frontovertex about 1/5 head width; ocelli arranged in an angle of about 30º; posterior ocelli nearly touching inner eye margin, separated from occipital margin nearly 3 × its own diameter; antenna ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37 − 38. 37 − 38 ) with scape slightly more than 4 × as long as broad; F1−F3 slightly broader than long or F3 rarely subquadrate; F4−F6 longer than wide; clava about as long as funicle; mandible quadridentate.
Thorax. Fore wing ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 37 − 38. 37 − 38 ) about 2.6 × as long as broad; marginal vein nearly 4 × as long as broad, clearly longer than stigmal vein; postmarginal vein short, about as long as stigmal vein.
Gaster. Gaster slightly longer than thorax; ovipositor sheaths slightly exserted, by about 1/10 gaster length.
Relative measurements. MT 50, OL 75, GL 24.
Male. Unknown.
Host. Unknown.
Distribution. China (Sichuan).
Holotype. Ψ ( IZCAS), CHINA: Sichuan, Chengdu, 13.vii.2003, Y.Z. Zhang.
Paratypes. CHINA: same data as holotype (3 ΨΨ); Sichuan, Erlang Mt., vii.2005, D.J. Liu (1 Ψ).
Comments. Adelencyrtus noyesi is similar to A. funicularis Hayat, Alam & Agarwal (1975) from India in general habitus. Females of A. noyesi can be separated from A. funicularis as follows: antenna generally dark brown except F4−F6 and clava dark yellowish-brown ( A. funicularis with antenna generally yellow except dorsal surface of pedicel and apical two segments of clava yellowish-brown); F1−F3 broader than long ( A. funicularis with F1 and F2 quadrate, and F3−F6 longer than broad); and apical half of mid femur dark brown ( A. funicularis with mid femur entirely yellow).
