Ampullaria tubaeformis Lea, 1856: 110 . Type material — syntype: USNM 106329 (1 spm., labelled as “ holotype ”). Type locality —[no locality given]. Distribution —unknown. Not listed by Cowie & Thiengo (2003).

Remarks. The location has been suggested as “ Siam ” ( Gaudion 1880: 41), or as Brazil (Rio de Janeiro or Bahia) or possibly India (notes associated with the specimen). Not listed by G.B. Sowerby III (1909: 358, 1910: 61, 1916: 73) or Cowie & Thiengo (2003).
