Description and illustration:— Hirooka et al. (2012).
Habitat:—On the bark of Hoheria populnea ( Malvaceae ).
Distribution:—Oceania ( Australia, New Zealand).
Notes:— Hirooka et al. (2012) pointed out that N. australiensis has been collected only from Oceania. However, Zhuang (2013) recorded the shape and size of asci, ascospores, and the anatomical structure of the perithecial wall from the specimen HMAS 33574, finding them similar to those of the species described by Seifert (1985).
