Diagnosis. The species shares external and genital characteristics with C. squamosella Stainton, 1856 , C. jaernaensis Björklund & Palmqvist, 2002 , and C. pseudosquamosella Baldizzone & Nel, 2003 . However, it can be distinguished from the latter by the following genital characteristics: 1) in the male genitalia of C. versurella ( Figs 16G, H View FIGURE 16 ), an ovaloid transtilla without spines, two juxtal rods, one of them featuring a triangular dorsal tooth at the subapical portion, and cornuti forming a curved linear formation are present, while in C. jaernaensis (see Björklund & Palmqvist 2002: Figs 4–7 View FIGURE 4 View FIGURE 5 View FIGURE 6 View FIGURE 7 ), male genitalia possess a broader ovaloid transtilla featuring spines on the dorsal base, and thicker two juxtal rods, one with a triangular dorsal tooth at the subapical portion, and in C. squamosella (see Baldizzone 2019: Pl. GM LV, Fig. 178), male genitalia possess a rhomboid transtilla, two juxtal rods, one with 1–2 triangular dorsal teeth at the subbasal part, and the other with a thorn-like dorsal tooth at the middle, and a thorn-like cornutus with a wide base, and in C. pseudosquamosella (see Baldizzone 2019: Pl. GM LIX, Fig. 190), male genitalia possess a rhomboid transtilla, two juxtal rods being dorsally sclerotized, one having a triangular dorsal expansion in the basal 1/3, and cornuti gathered in a claw-like formation with a broad base; 2) in the female genitalia of C. versurella ( Fig. 20B View FIGURE 20 ), the posterior margin of the sterigma recessed into a U-shape by the sinus vaginalis, a tubular curved colliculum to the left in the anterior portion, and the spinulate section in the posterior 1/5 of the ductus bursae are present, while in C. jaernaensis (see Björklund & Palmqvist 2002: Figs 8 View FIGURE 8 , 9 View FIGURE 9 ), female genitalia possess the posterior margin of the sterigma less recessed by the sinus vaginalis into a U-shape, and a shorter colliculum being gradually narrowed anteriorly and slightly curved to the right in the anterior portion, in C. squamosella (see Baldizzone 2019: Pl. GF LX, Fig. 179), female genitalia possess the posterior margin of the sterigma narrowly recessed by the sinus vaginalis, a bulged anterior part of the colliculum, the posterior edges of the colliculum extending to the posterior end of the sterigma, and the spinulate section in the posterior 1/10 of the ductus bursae, and in C. pseudosquamosella (see Baldizzone 2019: Pl. GF LXIV, Fig. 191), female genitalia possess the posterior margin of the sterigma recessed into a U-shape by the sinus vaginalis, a curved anterior part of the colliculum to the left, the posterior edges of the colliculum extending to the posterior end of the sterigma, and the spinulate section in the posterior 1/10 of the ductus bursae.
Adult ( Figs 10E View FIGURE 10 ; 12I View FIGURE12 ): Forewing length 5.0–7.0 mm (wingspan 10.5–14.0 mm) (n=24) ( Toll 1953: wingspan 13.0–14.0 mm; Li 2012: wingspan 11.0–15.0 mm; Oku 2013: wingspan 9.5–13.5 mm; Baldizzone 2019: wingspan 11.0–15.0 mm). Male genitalia ( Figs 16G, H View FIGURE 16 ; 25D View FIGURE 25 ): See also Benander (1939: Pl. V, Fig. 66: C. pallorella ); Hackman (1945: Fig. 125: C. pallorella ); Toll (1953: Fig. 181); Patzak (1974: Fig. 202); Park & Baldizzone (1992: Figs 7, 7a View FIGURE 7 ); Kim & Park (2009: Figs 46–46b); Li (2012: Fig. 99A); Oku (2013: Fig. Col1-16); Park (2014: Figs 28A–C View FIGURE 28 ); Baldizzone (2019: Pl.
