Genus Aulonastus Kethley View in CoL

This genus has included 13 species inhabiting feather quills of the secondaries, coverts, rectrices, and body feathers ( Skoracki 2011). To date, they have been noted from passerines of the following families: Cardinalidae , Emberizidae , Fringillidae , Icteridae , Laniidae , Motacillidae , Muscicapidae , Prunellidae , and Troglodytidae ( Skoracki et al. 2012) . Below, we describe a new species found on Pteroptochos tarnii (King) , which represents a new host family ( Rhinocryptidae ) for the genus Aulonastus .
