Zyras (Termidonia) baihuamontis View in CoL Z.-Q. Yan and L.-Z. Li, new species

( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 )

Type material. Holotype: China: 1 ♂, labeled ‘ CHINA: Yunnan Prov., Baoshan City (保山市), Mangkuan Town (芒宽 乡), Baihualing (百花岭), 25.16.39 N, 98.47.55 E, alt. 1200 m, 22.iv.2013, Dai, Peng & Song leg.’; HOLOTYPE [red], Zyras baihuamontis, Yan & Li det. 2015, ( SNUC); Paratype: 1 ♀, same label as above-mentioned, PARATYPE [yellow], Zyras baihuamontis, Yan & Li det. 2015, ( SNUC).

Description. Body length: 9.02–9.22 mm. Coloration: head, elytra, blackish; pronotum darker reddish-brown; abdomen blackish with the posterior margins of the segments reddish-brown; legs and antennae reddish to reddishbrown.

Head ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A) approximately as long as wide or weakly oblong; punctation sparse on head; eyes large and bulging, more than twice as long as postocular region in dorsal view; Antennae not distinctly flattened and short, barely reaching posterior margin of pronotum when directed caudad; antennomere III distinctly dilated apically, nearly twice as long as wide; Pronotum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A) squared, approximately 1.38 times as wide as head and 1.09 times as wide as long; punctation distinctly denser and coarser than that of head. Elytra dilated posteriad, at posterior margin approximately 1.33 times as wide, and at suture 0.86 times as long as pronotum; punctation conspicuously dense and defined, but finer than that of pronotum. Hind wings fully developed. Abdomen ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A) approximately as wide as elytra at posterior margin, widest at segment IV; microsculpture present, but mostly shallow; punctation fine and moderately dense; tergites IV and VII with pronounced sexual dimorphism.

Male: tergite IV ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A) conspicuously modified, posterior margin, and on either side with long and acute process; tergite VII ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A) at posterior margin with pronounced tubercle; posterior margin of tergite VIII in the middle slightly truncated. aedeagus ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 G, 1H, 1I) with conspicuous processes.

Female: tergites IV, V, and VII unmodified; posterior margin of tergite VIII in the middle concaved; spermatheca as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 F.

Measurements. BL: 9.01–9.22; FBL: 4.00–4.17; HW: 0.99–1.35; PL: 1.46–1.49; PW: 1.55–1.66; EL: 1.27–1.29; EW: 2.33–2.47.

Distribution. China: Yunnan.

Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the name of the type locality.

Comment. The new species is similar to Zyras (Termidonia) longwangmontis Pace, 1998 by sharing a similar general appearance. The species is readily distinguished from Z. (T.) longwangmontis by darker coloration of the pronotum (in Z. (T.) longwangmontis reddish), by different modifications of the male abdomen (in Z. (T.) longwangmontis the processes on tergite IV shorter and posterior margin of tergite V in the middle produced), by slender and curved median aedeagus in lateral view, and by different shape of apico-lateral processes of median lobe of the aedeagus (in Z. (T.) longwangmontis curved at apex in ventral view).
