Type material examined: Paratype ♀: “ Sumatra, Padang, 1890. E. Modigliani / Myrmedonia modigliani [sic] Cam Cotype / Syntype / Museo Civ. Genova / M. Cameron. Bequest., B.M. 1955-147. / Paratypus Myrmedonia modiglianii Cameron , rev. V. Assing 2017 / Myrmedonota modiglianii ( Cameron) , det. V. Assing 2017” ( BMNH).

Comment: The original description is based on a male holotype from “ Sumatra, Siboga” and an unspecified number of paratypes from “Padang” ( CAMERON 1925). An examination of a female paratype revealed that this species does not belong to Zyras sensu strictu. According to Maruyama (e-mail 27. February, 2017), it belongs to Myrmedonota CAMERON, 1920 .
