Biology and notes. Syritta flaviventris is an exotic species probably introduced in the 1960s. This synanthropic species visits several exotic flowers such as B. rapa (Matías Cortés, CSP record), T. officinalis (Rodrigo Barahona- Segovia pers. obs.), E. pectinatus (Luis Jopia, CSP record), Leontodon saxatalis Lam. (Rodrigo Barahona-Segovia pers. obs.), and Chrysanthemum sp. (R. Barahona-Segovia pers. obs.). It can be found mainly in cities or crops near urban areas. There are also records of visits in native species such as Haplopappus sp. (R. Barahona-Segovia, pers. obs.), Heliotropium stenophyllum Hook. et Arn (César Martínez, CSP record), Cryptantha sp. (Orlando Montes, CSP record) and Baccharis salicifolia (Ruiz y Pav.) Pers. (Sebastián Andrade, CSP record).
Conservation status. Not evaluated because this species is considered exotic.
