World distribution. Argentina and Chile.

Chilean distribution. From Biobío to Aysén region ( Fig. 87 ).

Altitudinal range. From coastal to precordillera ecosystems (5– 1,300 m.a.s.l.).

Biology and notes. Stilbosoma cyanea is mainly associated with native forests. The records from the Metropolitan region are considered doubtful in this work and future records should confirm this location. In Chiloé this species visits the flowers of A. luma , E. cordifolia , Hydrangea serratifolia (Hook. & Arn.) F. Phil. , Luma apiculata (DC) Burret, M. ovata var. ovata , M. planipes and T. stipularis ( Smith-Ramírez et al., 2005, Cecilia Smith-Ramírez, com. pers.). Citizen scientists have recorded this species visiting flowers of Eryngium paniculatum Cav. & Dombey ex F. Delaroche (Manuel Badilla and Fernando Montiel, CSP) and R. ulmifolius (Fernando González, CSP) .

Conservation status. LC; EOO = 98,134 km 2, AOO = 108 km 2 and 24 localities (or subpopulations).
