Type locality and data. “ Chile ” (T, ♂, MNHNP) .
Material examined. No specimens were reviewed. Santiago ( Macquart, 1842).

World distribution. Chile.
Chilean distribution. Only recorded for Santiago, Metropolitan region.
Altitudinal range. This species could inhabit in inland valleys between 400 and 700 m. a.s.l.
Biology and notes. Syrphus auropulveratus is considered as incertae sedis in the fauna of Chile ( Etcheverry
1963). This could be true because there are no other records available apart from the original description done by Macquart (1842). Type specimen currently lost (Christophe Daugeron pers. comm.).
Conservation status. Not evaluated because this species is considered incertae sedis.
