Remarks. The species is recorded from China for the first time.

Remarks. The species varies in body coloration, especially the color of the abdomen. Townes (1945: 24) treated the species as three varieties based on body coloration. The Chinese specimens are similar to M. pedellus var. aberrans (Johannsen) described by Townes (1945). Oliver et al. (1990) treated all the varieties as synonyms.
