Geranium sect. Ruberta

In two species examined, the surface was rugose with coarse irregular patterns. These irregular patterns are deeper in G. purpureum than G. robertianum . The mericarp is more or less glabrous to hairy with non-glandular hairs, 3 apical ridges and a proximal narrow aperture.

G. purpureum is easily separated from G. robertianum . As mericarp ornamentation in G. purpureum ( Figs. 8, O 1–O 2) comprises large and small gemmae and granules but in G. robertianum there are gemmate-microechinate ornamentations ( Figs. 9, R 1–R 2).
