Peperomia casarettoi (as “ casaretti ”) C. DC., J. Bot. 4: 141. 1866. Type: BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: “prope Rio de Janeiro [Montibus Serra dos Orgãos], s.d. [5–16 Mar 1839], Casaretto Herb. No. 1041 (holotype, G-DC barcode G00207599!).
Accepted name: Peperomia casarettoi C. DC.
When C. de Candolle (1866: 141) described this species, he clearly stated that he examined Casaretto Herb. No. 1041 at G-DC, which is the holotype.
