Previously known from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay (Govaerts et al. 2008), and Uruguay (www.tropicos.org/). It was collected to 20 km from the Las Petas Community on the way to the Natividad community, growing in mata seca (chiquitano dry forest). The nearest record of this species from outside Bolivia is A. Pott 3222 (CPAP), from the Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul ( Brazil).

SPECIMENS EXAMINED:— BOLIVIA. Santa Cruz, Provincia Ángel Sandoval, ca. 20 km entre las comunidades Las Petas y Natividad, 16.4062°S, 59.1754°W, 14 Nov. 2008, Wood J.R.I. & Soto D. 25375 (K!, UB!, USZ!).
