Shrubs ca. 1.60 m tall. Smooth brown rhytidome. Branches erect, quadrangular, not winged, whitish; woolly, branches, petioles, leaves both side, inflorescence, bracts, hypanthium and fruits with simple persistent trichomes. Leaves isophyllous; petioles slightly channelled 3.9–5.4 mm long; leaf blades 6.1–7.3 × 2.1–2.6 cm, chartaceous, concolorous, symmetrical, lanceolate, base rounded, apex acute, margins entire and ciliate, leaf veins 5, basal; ant domatia absent. Paniculate 8.6–15.1 × 10.2–12.6 cm, terminal; bracts ca. 14.9 mm long, ovate, covering all floral bud, caducous, with simple persistent trichomes; bracteles absent. Flowers 5-merous; pedicel ca. 2.4 mm long; hypanthium ca. 8.4 mm long, oblong, wrinkled, with simple persistent trichomes; calyx simple, persistent; lacinia triangular ca. 6.6 mm long, with simple trichomes; petals ca. 28.7 × 24.9 mm, purplish, obovate, symmetrical, base attenuate, margins ciliate, glabrous; stamens 10, heteromorphic, smaller anthers ca. 5.7 mm long, larger anthers 7.1 mm long, sickle-shaped, curved, apex attenuate,1 apical pore, connective prolonged, smaller ca. 1.6 mm long, larger ca. 1.9 mm long, with ventral appendage, smaller filaments ca. 9 mm long, larger filaments ca. 9.9 mm long, with simple persistent trichomes; ovary ca. 6.8 mm long, inferior, with simple trichomes; style ca. 13.5 mm long, curved, with glandular persistent trichomes. Capsule ca. 9.8 × 7.3 mm, unripe fruit green, ripe fruit purple; seeds numerous, cochleate.

Specimen examined:— BRAZIL.Amazonas, Manaus, RDS-Tupé. 28 April 2013, fl.,fr., A.L. Corrêa 218 (EAFM!, HUAM!, INPA!).

Distribution and habitat:— Endemic to Brazil in the Atlantic forest ( Guimarães, 2015). In the reserve, it is cultivated in the backyards as an ornamental plant.

Comments:— The genus can be identified by the cochleate seeds. Among the species of Tibouchina that occur in the reserve, it can be recognized by the lanceolate leaf blade.
