Trees ca. 12 tall. Dark brown rhytidome. Branches erect, cylindrical, not winged, reddish; branches, petioles, leave abaxial surface, inflorescences, bracteoles, hypanthium and fruits with stellate-long persistent trichomes. Leaves opposite, isophyllous; petioles circular 4.6–5.2 mm long; leaf blades 11.1–11.6 × 4.3–5.1 cm, chartaceous, discolored, symmetrical, elliptical, base rounded, apex acuminate, margins entire and ciliate, adaxial side with stellate-long trichomes on the leaf veins, leaf veins 5, suprabasal; ant domatia absent. Paniculate 12.6–13.8 × 8.2–10.6 cm, terminal; bracts not seen; bracteoles not seen. Flowers 5-merous, sessile; hypanthium ca. 1.8 mm long, campanulate, wrinkled; calyx simple, persistent; lacinia triangular; petals ca. 2.8– 1.6 mm, white, obovate, symmetrical, apex rounded, base attenuate, margins not ciliate, glabrous; stamens 10, heteromorphic, smaller anthers ca. 2.3 mm, larger anthers ca. 2.7 mm long, white, oblong, straight, apex truncate,1 apical pore, connective not prolonged, smaller filaments ca. 2.6 mm long, larger filaments ca. 3.1 mm long, glabrous; ovary ca. 1.2 mm long, half-inferior, 3-locular, glabrous; style ca. 5.5
mm long, straight, glabrous. Berry ca. 2.4 × 3.1 mm, unripe fruit green, ripe fruit blackish; fruits with up to 12 seeds, triangular.

Distribution and habitat:— Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, Peru, Bolivia ( Goldenberg et al. 2013). In Brazil it occurs in Amazonian Forests and Cerrado ( Goldenberg & Caddah 2015). In the reserve, it occurs on “terra-firme” plateaus on clay soil with a lot of organic matter.
Comments:— This species is rare in the reserve. It can be recognized by the stellate trichomes on both sides of the leaf.
