Cryptorhopalum vicinum Sharp, 1902: 667 .

Type material. 7 Syntypes: Lectotype here designated (male): „ Jalapa [ Vera Cruz ], Mexico, Hoege “ \ „ Type “ [red circle], ( BMNH) . Paralectotypes: (3 spec.): the same data as lectotype ( BMNH); (3 males) : “ Cerro de Plumas [Oaxaca], Mexico, Hoege”, (2 BMNH, 1 JHAC) .

Additional material. Mexico, Tlaxcala, Vera Cruz , 4.vii.1957, Selander leg. , 1 male, ( JHAC) ; Mexico, México, Amumululuco , 30.viii.1969, on Artemisia, 1 male, ( JHAC) .

Remarks. According the characters mentioned by Beal (1975, 1985) the species belongs to the C. haplotes species group.

Distribution. Species known from Mexico: Oaxaca, Vera Cruz, new for México.
