Type species: Afroramhus yakovlevi sp. n.
Diagnosis. Rostrum longer than pronotum; forehead linear; antennal strobes lateral, directed to eye; antennae geniculate, inserted before basal third of rostrum; scape not reaching eyes; funicle 6- segmented; pronotum transverse; sides with long erect setae; elytral interstriae rugose-punctate; pre- and postcoxal portions of prosternum short; procoxal cavities narrowly separated; femora with small tubercle, not sulcate for receiving tibiae; tibiae unarmed; metatibiae without flat surface internally, without erect long setae along internal margin.
Etymology. From Africa and the generic name “ Rhamphus ”.
Comparison. The new genus is similar to the genus Indodinorrhopalus Pajni et Sood, 1981 but differs in narrowly separated procoxal cavities and femora with small tubercle. It differs from the genus Rhynchaenus in the unarmed pro- and mesotibia and femora with small tubercle.
