Diagnosis. Locheutis elliptica sp. nov. can be distinguished from its congeners by the costal part of the valva sharply narrowed from middle to acute apex, and the aedeagus with a large single spine-shaped cornutus longer than half the length of the aedeagus.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2–6 ). Wingspan 15.5 mm. Head shining purplish bronze. Antenna with scape blackish brown; flagellum with ventral surface pale yellow, dorsal surface blackish brown basally, pale yellow annulated with brown distally. Labial palpus with second palpomere blackish brown on outer surface, whitish yellow inner surface; third palpomere blackish brown except distal 2/3 pale yellow on dorsal surface, pointed at apex. Thorax and tegula yellow, mixed with greyish brown scales. Forewing whitish yellow; costal margin blackish brown basally; discal, discocellular and plical spots blackish brown, round, subequal in size; subterminal fascia yellowish brown, extending from distal 1/4 of costal margin to tornus, more conspicuous on veins; terminal dots blackish brown, ranging from preapex along termen to tornus; fringe yellow, mixed with grey distally. Hindwing and fringe greyish brown. Legs shinning brownish bronze; hind tibia and tarsus yellow, mixed with ocherous brown on ventral surface; spurs dark brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7–11 ). Tegumen roundly arched on posterior margin, lateral side narrow. Gnathos a wide transverse band, widened laterally, narrowed to middle, with a deeply V-shaped anterior emargination. Costal part of valva with basal half almost uniformly wide, distal half sharply narrowed to pointed apex, bent ventrad, with sparse setae; saccular part of valva with basal half nearly uniform, slightly narrower between 1/2 and 3/4, distal 1/4 dilated elliptically and setose. Juxta sub-circular; anterior margin sclerotized, slightly extending outward laterally, with a small notch at middle; lateral margin sclerotized, roundly arched outward medially. Aedeagus stout, straight, nearly as long as saccular part of valva; cornutus a large curved spine, extending from basal 1/3 to apex.
Female unknown.
Distribution. Thailand.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin ellipticus, referring to the elliptical shape of the saccular part of the valva.
