Genus Furcalis Park View in CoL , gen. nov.

Type species: Furcalis triodonta Park , sp. nov. TL: Cameroon.

Diagnosis. Furcalis Park is also closely related to Lecithocera , sharing similar wing maculation and male genital characters. It can be distinguished from Lecithocera by its different forewing venation with M3, CuA1, and CuA2 free; and a unique process on the ventral margin of valva in the male genitalia.

Description. Venation ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 27–31 ): Forewing venation with all veins presented and free, except R4 and R5 stalked; R1 arising from beyond middle; R2 from near upper corner of cell; R3 free; R4 and R5 stalked for about 3/5; R5 to termen; M1 nearly parallel to R5; M2 near to M3 at base; M3, CuA1, and CuA2 free; cell closed. Hindwing with M2 arising from 1/3 across wing, cell very short; M3 and CuA1 stalked beyond middle. Abdomen without zones of spines on tergites, with a long hair-pencil in the 7th abdominal segment; 8th abdominal sternite deeply emarginated at middle on caudal margin, with strong bristles along caudal margin ( Fig. 30b View FIGURES 27–31 ). Male genitalia with one or two prominent process(es) on ventral margin of valva medially.

Etymology. The generic name is derived from the Latin, furca (= fork), referring to the fork-shaped process on the valva in the male genitalia. The gender is feminine.
